Steve, Have you tried your local LDS FHC (Church of the Latter Day Saints Family History Center). In case you do not know, they are open to all, mormon or not, and they have a very large database (it is part of their religion). They are very helpful and willing to assist you. When we went to the one in Oakland, CA they even gave a 1/2 hour orientation tour on tape and almost led up by the hand. Good luck.-FRT.
