I have Alice Wertley Guthrie, dau John James Guthrie & Agnes Goodman, b 3 Mar 1844 Buckingham Co VA, d c1916; married 6 May 1868
Buckingham Co Marr Record, groom 26 single b Cumberland, farmer & resident Cumberland, bride 23 single born Buckingham; to Lemuel Poindexter Apperson of Westbrook, son John L Apperson & E W ___) born c1842 Cumberland Co. Alice is 8 on the 1850 census, 16 on 1860 census & 23 in 1868 on her marriage bond; a note on Westbrook "Westbrook is in Cumberland Co but much of the land is in Buckingham"; several Apperson/Eppersons married Guthrie's. I have more information on Guthrie's, if you need it. Would be interested in what you know re this couple.
