Mr. McDuffee had the wrong Francis Apperson.
Randolph Walker Apperson who was born 10 April,1809 married Drusilla Clark Whitmire. They had three children.
1.Phoebe Elizabeth Apperson b.1 dec.1842 who married George Hearst on 15 June 1862. They had twin boys one of whom died and the other was William Randolph Hearst Sr. b. 29 April 1863 and who married Millicent Wilson in 1903.
a. William Randolph Hearst Sr. and Millicent had four children: William Randolph Hearst Jr., John Randolph Hearst, George Hearst, Randolph Hearst.
1. William Randolph Hearst Jr. married Catherine ? and had five children: Cathy, Virginia b. abt. 1950, Patricia (Patty) Cambell b. 4 Feb 1954, Ann b. abt 1956, and Vicky b. abt 1957.
2.Sarah Agnes Apperson b.14 Oct 1844 died 10 Oct 1945 as a child.
3.Elbert Clark Apperson b. 10 Oct 1944 married Elizabeth Ann Sutherland.
Randolph Walker Apperson was the last of 12 children. The 10th child, Edwin Long Apperson was my gr. gr. grandfather. I have all the names and dates so if you are interested e-mail me and I can send you the imformation.
Randolph Walker and Edwin Long Apperson's parents were Dr. John Apperson b.4 dec. 1763 and Alice (Alcey) Favor-- his parents were Francis Apperson b. 20 dec. 1718 and Mary Elizabeth Long--his parents were William Epperson (Apperson)and Mrs. ?.
William Epperson came to America by sea with parents and 3 brothers. The parents died at sea according to the book " The Apperson Family in America" by Vera Apperson English. I copied the whole book in the library of Congress.
