I am trying to find information on my father's family tree. I am trying to go through paperwork that my father has that someone started with information on the Appel family. I would be interested to see who all is in the family for not only my sake but for my children's so they can know their heritage on my side. Any information will be helpful. My father was born December 13, 1925 in PA. He was with his mother, father, and two sisters until his father left the family. His mother put him and his sisters in a Catholic Orphanige (sorry about the spelling). His two sisters died at an early age (so I don't know their names and are buried in PA), his mother had another daughter and was in a terrible accident and her daughter was at the same orphaniage as my father, her name was Shirley Metzler(this was her married name) she passed away July 2008. I feel like I am at a deadend since I don't know if there are any other family members related to my father. My father served in the Army in 1944 in WWI in Germany. He married my mother Nancy C. (Singleton) Appel May 1974 and I was born in November 1974. He was an executive director for GSAE and retired after working part-time jobs. Please, if anyone has any information I would really appreciate it.
