Matthew,
Yes, we are related thru your great grandfather's mother, Rose Etta Auld.My grandfather, Floyd Cogswell Tucker, is her son also.
Rose married Mr. Anway before 1888 and divorced before her marriage date of 11-26-1893 to William Milo Tucker. She came to the marriage with three children:Glenn (born 1889), Charles Ervin (born 1888), and Mertyl (born 1891).
By 1895 census, William Milo and Rose are living in Polk Cty, IA with his brother and wife, Albert and Effie. No children are with them at this time!
By 1900 census, William Milo and Rose are living in Pine Cty, MN with Mertyl Anway and the four children they produced together:Alpha Mae Tucker (born 1895), Floyd Cogswell Tucker (born 1896 - my grandfather), William Oral "Orrie" Tucker (born 1898) and Ival I. Tucker (born 1902).
It is further my understanding that Glenn Anway lived with the Slingerland family and assumed that name, but I'm not sure what happened to Charles Ervin Anway.I do know, he eventually moved to Oakridge, Oregon.(Both Ambers and Amberson Anway moved to Oregon also).
I looked up Mertyl Anway's death cert, and her father's name is stated as being Andrew Anway and her mother is Rose Auld.I have one living aunt and verbally she said the name Ambers rings a bell!I can only conclude that Ambers/Ambrose is the father.
