I am new at this process. However; My Dad came from an area near Lithuania. He was born in 1882 in a village named Ostrenow. It was on the main road between GRODNO and what is now his days, it was all part of White Russia. He came to the US around 1900-1903. I have not been able to track him into Ellis Island, in the process, I have used every variation of the spelling of the name imaginable with no sucess. I have a basic understanding of the Russian language, and believe the spelling we are using would be the most acceptable.
