Hope your search is going better than ours. We have worked long and hard and have not found what you are searching for. We do have some info. which might help you.
Mary Smith Lee did indeed have a sister named, Susanna(no h) Hancock Lee. According to our records, children of Mary Jaqueline (Smith) Lee and her husband Col. Philip Smith Lee are:
1.Mary Smith Lee born 12-31-1788, died 6-26-1866, mar.7-14-1808 to James Crenshaw Anthony born 1785, died 1866 in Ark.
2.Susanna Hancock Lee born near 1790,mar 5-24-1808 to Peter Gordan who died, and she later married John S. Thornton.
3.Philicia Sally Lee born 1-26-1791, died unmarried 10-17-1811.
Susanna Hancock Lee is a family name in both Lee and Smith families. Generally the Lee's used only family names for their children. This makes it very difficult to trace people. It appears that there are one or two generations missing between the two Susanna Hancock Lee's. I thought it would be "easy" to fill in the missing generations with the info. that I already had, but my search has proved fruitless due to so many Lee's.
I thought that with the family history I had, that I could start in Pulaski Co, Ky, and backtrack, this proved impossible, as there are too many Lee's in Pul. Co. Ky.
I am currious as to how you traced your heritage back to Mary Smith Lee(wife of J.C. Anthony).
I have more info. on the Lee family if you are interested, and if you backtrack through the census records for Pul. Co. Ky., which had a large population of Lee Surnames, you may find what you are searching for.
Good Luck,Charles Anthony
