The Anthonys were also extremely friendly with the Clark family.
As far as names go, my Joseph Anthony Jr. had a grandson by his son Micajah who was named Thomas Anthony (who was my ggg-grandfather).
If you'll read the second message I posted on this subject on November 17, you might agree that it sounds very likely that my Joseph Anthony Jr. was the son of Joseph Anthony Sr., and *not* the Rev. Joseph.
My Joseph Anthony Jr.s will contained references to Micajah Anthony (both "deceased" - Joseph Sr.s brother, son of Mark & Isabella - and Joseph Jr.'s son of the same name, who was an executor of the will) - the name Micajah is unsurprising, considering how many Micajah Clarks there were.
The will also refers to my Joseph Jr.s son, Mark Anthony, so in that you are correct that family names get passed along.Mark was not a particularly common name in those days and it would be quite a coincidence if a Joseph Anthony Jr. totally unrelated to the Mark Anthony who married Isabella Hart named his son after him.
Marriage records aren't the only records that count.
