Claude - Thanks for your answers to my questions. Now I have some other pieces of information for you to ponder. After posting my message to you, I checked out the site:www.my-ged.comThere is a lot of Pelletier family information on the site.(The site claims to have 1500 GedCom files.)I do realize the information in GedCom files is probably only as reliable as to whether good or bad information was inputted in the files. However, there are parents listed for Pierre Antaya dit Pelletier (b. 1700.)A Rene Pelletier and Marie Madeleine LaClerc are listed as the parents. The files also continue to give names for 3 previous generations before this Rene. But there is a problem with the information given for this couple, - only one of their children was named Pierre and this child died at birth! The name "Elizabeth" Arnaud/Laverge is also listed for his wife instead of Charlotte. I have never seen any Pelletier with the name of RENE in the info given in "Dictionnaire Genealogique des Familles de Quebec" by Rene Jette.So.........I don't know where all this leaves me.Sandy
