James Anstey b. 2 Feb 1817 in Coventry, moved to Dorset sometime later in life and married Sarah Foster. They had on ehcild that I know of, my g-g-grandfather, James Ansty b. 29 Sep 1846 in Bloxworth, Dorset, who in 1872 married Jane Way Tuck, b1849, Piddlehinton, Dorset. They moved to Australia in 1883. Is this info helpful? Do you know anything of these Anst(e)ys? We think we know why the spelling changed, since we have James' birth certificate, which Sarah signs with a X. So we think they were illiterate. We also think this because in the 1881 census they give their ages incorrectly, by a few years.

With regards,
Matthew
