Eliza Fletcher(nee Evans) transfered a War of 1812 Land Bounty located in Iowa to a Joseph Ankeny, a son was named John Fletcher Ankeny, and a daughter Sarah Fletcher Ankeny. We are trying to determine what, if any relationship there was between the Fletcher and Ankeny families.
Eliza was the widow of Joshua Stroud Fletcher (1785-1825), we already know that her father Reese Evans served in the Rev War. Peter Ankeny, Joseph Ankeny's father served in the Rev War. My guess at this point is that there was some relationship between a Fletcher in the Rev War and Peter Ankeny?
