My Amgotti ancestor, Stephen, was born about 1850 in Bianchi, Cosenza, Calabria. I believe that his parents were Giovanni Battista Angotti and Angela Rosa Collia. Stephen had a sister Maria whom he believed died in the great earthquake of 1908. I have quite a bit of info. on the families of Giovanni and Angela Rosa, but I have not yet proved that Stephen was their son.
Stephen worked on the railroad with a cousin whose Anglicized name was Joe Matts (I suspect it was originally something like Giovanni or Guiseppi Mazzia.) eventually going to MO then ARK.
Any connections? Any ideas?
