According to "Full-Blooded Yankee" by Sidney Koon, 1951, the Angevines of La Rochelle, France did not have a surname when they arrived from Angiers (Angers) in 1550 and were given the surname Angevine by their neighbors relative to their origin. So, you need to find what Louis' family was called by, previously. Apparently Francis Angevine (1588) was a glassmaker of some repute in La Rochelle. Perhaps the trade was handed down. You may be able to find records through the guild.

I'll be going to see if any of Francis' works have been preserved when I'm in Europe in July. I would like meeting with you!
