My maternal grandmother was a granddaughter of Saxton Smith Angevine, traced to the Huguenot immigrant Pierre Angevine who came to New Rochelle, New York, from La Rochelle, France. My maternal grandfather descended from Angevines of Lincolnshire, England. I have read that the Angevines in Lincolnshire and Yorkshire came from France to England shortly after 1066, though I have seen nothing about them prior to 1300. Does anyone have a chart of this English family? In particular, I am wanting to know the relationship of Thomas Angevine (born circa 1300?) to William Angevine (born circa 1360?) both of Lincolnshire. Both dates are approximations only and may be way offbase. William Angevine had daughter Mary Angevine (born circa 1390?) who married John Bolle/Bolles "of Swineshead" in Lincoln, father of William Bolle(s) b. c1410 "of Swineshead" who married Anne Kyme, daughter of John Kyme of Fiskeney. Thomas Angevine had a daughter "Miss Angevine" (born circa 1630 Lincoln) who married William Yarburgh (Yarbrough/Yarborough). Their son Richard Yarburgh married Joan Atwell who, according to Burke's Peerage, was "a descendant of Baron Kyme." Her lineage from Kyme is so distant, I see this Kyme connection between the two Angevine lines can only be a coincidence, since many Lincoln families must have descended from Baron Kyme: Philip, Baron Kyme, m. Joan Bigod b. 1280, a great-granddaughter of Roger Bigod and Isbel (Ida) Plantagenet It is possible that William and Thomas Angevine were closer in age than these estimated dates I've assigned them? The names were taken from ancient charts of lengthy lists with no dates shown for several generations and the dates were calculated based on a 30 year average between generations.
