Vanessa, Are you familiar with Bill Angell? He's a descendant of Thomas Angell (as am I) and the two thrusts of his research have to do with Thomas' English origins and an Angell database.

Bill can be reached at Nerd3@aol.com. Is one of the sons that severed ties, Henry of Liverpool. Avery Angell's work GENEALOGY OF THE DESCENDANTS OF THOMAS ANGELL, 1872, calls it a tradition but I know there are several theories.
