ANGELL, Charles possible name change

I am looking for a Charles Henry Briggs b 7Octobert1861-65 bp unknown.

Family rumor states that Charles Henry got into some legal trouble and changed his name from Angle/Angel to Briggs.

I can not find Charles Henry prior to 1891. I have found him in NJ working as a shoe laster from 1891 until 1902 when he and his family (wife May McCarthy Briggs, son's Harold Charles and Lester James) moved to MO., and I find him from 1902 until his death in 1913 in MO., all under the name Briggs. SO if he changed his name I am thinking it was prior to 1891.

I have 2 documents that state his fathers name Charles but on one document it lists mothers maiden name as Stella Briggs and on another it states Mary Denbar. I have no idea who his real parents are. I can not find them either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
