The entries in the MS appear to have been made by persons with first-hand knowledge, although a few features may have been added at a later date. This is particularly the case with the lining out of Ira Angel’s date of death. The MS contains only the names, dates of birth and dates of death of Jonathan and Mary (Shepherd) Angel and their children, and the date of their marriage. It is possible that other internet genealogists have used information that derives from this “Register.”If so, however, they have not used it carefully or they were dependent on an unclear copy, for the copy in my possession is quite clear on several points where the internet genealogists are at variance with it.George N Angell, the author of a widely read manuscript account of his genealogy, could not have used it.In several details it is at variance with the entries in the Marboro (VT) Town records, but these variances are probably more instructive than disturbing.
