James, I have Elisha, b. 4 Dec. 1753 in Farmington, per Barbour Collection of B, D, & M. Also LDS microfilm 0004219, Volume 8, Farmington, CT Deeds. He was a son of Thomas and his third wife Elidia (Lydia) (Woodford) Andrews/Andrus.
In the book "Genealogical History of John and Mary Andrews, who settled in Farmington, Conn., 1640" By Alfred Andrews, LDS microfilm 1320610, item 4, Elisha is number 224. He is called Elisha Andrews of Tyrington, Mass., and received a portion of the estate of his younger brother, Gideon, late of Farmington, deceased; he also had a portion of his uncle, Paul Andrews' estate, in 1763. He was administrator on his brother Gideon's estate in 1782. (see probate court record, at Farmington).
Elisha received L9, 0s., 7d from his father's estate probated 9 April 1762.
Have you looked for probate records in the county in which he died?
I have nothing more on Elisha. I'm still trying to find the parents of my 3g-grandfather Daniel Andrus, b. 10 sep. 1750 in Farmington, d. 9 Sep 1840 in Nunda, Livingston county, NY.
