Hi Coreen

There very well could be a connection here. I have just found one relative through this forum and maybe you are a second. Ruel Andrus had moved back to NY after the death of his first wife and married a woman named Jemima Ayers. One of thier sons was named Samuel and could very well have been born in NY around that time. If I can help you with any other information please let me know.
