Hi Jesse. I don't know whether or not I'm related to you (I have two sets of Andrus families -- one in Louisiana and one in Pennsylvania), but I can provide a few tips on where to look for info. I heavily recommend www.usgenweb.org. It's a nonprofit site that has web pages for each US state, and each county within that state. They usually have a lot of information about what is available in that area, and could have all kinds of information compiled by other amateur researchers. You can also look at genealogy.com and ancestry.com to see what type of information they have online. You have to pay for access to see details of lot of it, but it will at least give you a general idea of what is out there, and whether you would like to subscribe. I find that it's worth the price. You can also sign up for free email newlsetters from these sites that have a lot of tips. www.familysearch.com is the LDS genealogy site. They have some information on-line, as well as their catalogue listing all microfilms of original records that can be ordered through your local Family History Center. http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/ allows you to search other people's family trees to find tips on where you should look next. Be careful to try to corroborate all of the information you get from different people. Genealogy is a wondeful hobby, and I hope you have fun finding your family!!
