My dad (born in 1917 and his dad in 1890's) Pronounced it An-druss - I am descended from Thomas Andrews of Surry, Va about 1600 close as I can tell. There were Andrus and Andrews both in the same families. My dad remembered and told me about a relative that was using the Andrews name in Texas when he was little.
