Grove Andrus is shown in the Alfred Andrews 1872 "Genealogical History of John and Mary Andrews who settled in Farmington, Conn., 1640." Andrews shows Grove's direct ancestors to be:
Jonathan and Sophia (Lawrence) of Simsbury, CT
William and Ruth (Humphrey)
Asahel and ___ (Butler)
John and Hannah/Anna (Gillett)
John and Elizabeth (Strickland)
John and Mary (?), immigrants to Hartford
