The following are the children of Palmer Andrus and Mary Jane (Polly) Losee who lived in Haldimand Twp., Northumberland Co., Ontario, Canada:

Smith Joshua Andrus, b. 14 Nov 1822, d. 27 Sept. 1907 Rennselaer, Kniman, Indiana

William P. Andrus, b. 1 May 1827, d. 25 Nov 1829

William Henry Andrus, b. 10 May 1833, d. 19 Jan 1910, Castleton, Northumberland, Ontario

Jonas Losee Andrus, b. 6 July 1836, d. 1 Jan 1917, Kankakee, Illinois

Jonathan Frederick Andrus, b 1 Mar 1841, d. 7 May 1900 near his home in Cramahe, Northumberland, Ontario

Richard G. Andrus, b 10 Dec 1844, d. betw. 1910-1920

Thomas George Andrus, b 11 Mar 1848, d 13 Apr 1922

Benjamin P. Andrus, b 23 Nov 1853, d. 9 Nov 1940

Sources include an Andrus family bible, Northumberland Co. land record for Palmer Andrus, family letters and census data. As far as I can ascertain, there were no female children of Palmer and Polly, although it is possible there might have been infants who did not survive.

Parents of Palmer Andrus b. 07 Feb 1799 are William Andrus (dates and origins unknown but probably western CT or Dutchess Co., NY); and Lydia Palmer b. abt. 1772 in Dutchess Co., d. 2 Mar 1832. (Source for birth and death data is Andrus family bible: "DEATHS. Lydia Andrus 2th mar 1832 aged 60 years old"). Palmer and Lydia are buried in the Eddystone Church cemetery in Haldimand Twp.

Parents of Mary Jane Losee are Jonas Losee, b. 1763 in Long Island City, Queens, NY; and Zuba Unknown, presumed b. NY. In 1783, following the Revolutionary War, the Losees were exiled to Nova Scotia on The Spring Fleet with thousands of others. Mary Jane was born in New Brunswick, and the family migrated to Upper Canada in the early part of the 1800s.
