I have been sent a copy of the relevant page from Belmont History 1988 which features Samuel Andrews. The piece on the death reads:
'At the coast where they were about to embark, came a message saying death had claimed the mother of great-grandfather. He returned and by the time they were again upon their journey two weeks has elapsed.'
The article goes on to say they embarked on the Albion arriving Philadelphia April 29th 1819. Problem here is that I cannot find any trace of the Albion arriving at this port or arriving anywhere at this time. Any ideas?
This was written by Mrs Gregory Bakker. Alben, who was born as the Albion arrived (Called Alben after the ship) was her grand-father
