Hi, I have many Joseph Andres in my research documents, all are born in Europe. Some as recent at the very early 1800s.
Some go as far back as the 1600s. Do you know if you Andres worked in the glass industry? If so then there is likely a connection. There is a good write up on this family here in the USA by Jim Andris (names and spellings changed over the centuries and in different countries but they are the same overall family) at http://www.siue.edu/~jandris/genealogy/html/darquennes.html Jim is a nice man and he and I have met and traded info over the last few years.
