In the information I hold, I have a George Andres, with no further details as to where and when he was born, who he got married to, etc. His father was Jean Nicolas Andres, born on Feb. 16, 1876 in Ormersviller (Lorraine- France). He died on December 6, 1959 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
His wife was Anne (Ana) Meyer, born around 1882, probably in Ormersviller also. She passed away on June 17, 1962, also in Wisconsin Rapids.
Is the George above your grandfather ? I don't know. Depending on your age, he could be. There are however lots of George Andres in many family trees, and I suspect a great many had mothers named Ana. Check out with whatever information you have if this fits in. I must say that most of the Andres of this branch, at least in the late 1800's and early 1900's, remained in the Wisconsin and Michigan states, which does not mean that several could not have moved to establish themselves in other states. Good luck. Keep me posted if there is a fit and we can exchange further. Robert Andres
