I am wondering if anyone can help me find the actual link of my ancestors from Pressen to Galizien.
My end of line ancestor is Johann Friedrich ANDRES and based on his age at death (1826) as listed in Ugartsthal, Galizien, AUSTRIA has him born about 1750.
His 1st wife died in 1792 in Ugartsthal - her name was Anna Dorothea Elizabetha. His 2nd wife was Anna Maria Barbara PRINZ.
The source - Kolonistenwerk Josef des II in Galizien by Ludwig Schneider says that he was born in Strinzmargaretha, , Hessen-Nassau, PREUSSEN. I have gone through that microfilm and the name is ther but the names disappear prior to 1750 and they possibly went to another area prior to coming to Galizien.
The emigration date listed in Josef II is listed as 1 Sep 1785 and there are 3 people in total.
It is possible that there were in Molsheim prior to emigrating to Galizien but I have not had the opportunity to go through that microfilm yet. I just wanted to post this message to see if someone could help.
Any input would be appreciated.
