Andres of Ormersviller, Lorraine, France

I have recently completed research on my ancestors (especially Andres) from Ormersviller, Lorraine, France. Most of my time was spent on early generations, but here is an interesting tidbit that I've uncovered regarding Andres in the U.S.

Kathleen Gross relates the tale of how a Caspar Andres of Ionia County, Michigan drowned while en route to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to see relatives. The relatives in question may have been my own.

Casper's parents were Vincent Andres and Anne-Marie Andres, who married 27 December 1817 at Ormersviller. Casper emigrated to Michigan in 1874. Two of Casper's first cousins, Jean and Pierre Andres, emigrated to Wisconsin in 1854 and 1867, respectfully. Jean and Pierre's father, Conrad Andres, was Anne-Marie's younger brother.

So could Casper have been on his way to see his first cousins? If true it would be an interesting coincidence.
