Johann Ludwig Andres was my great grandfather. His son Charles was my grandfather, and his grandson Paul was my father. I have material concerning the location of the family in Prussia, info on the trip to the US, and material on his death in a fall while working as a mason on a tower in Minneapolis. The Elsa referred to was my grandfather's sister. Maria Dee is buried in a cemetery in Iowa, and after Johann's death his second wife, Maria Laabs, remarried. One of her granddaughters still lives just across the Iowa border in Minnesota, and has provided me with much of this material. On a trip to Berlin in 1985, I obtained copies of several maps which show the small village, Langestuck, near Dolzig, where the family lived before emigrating to the US. I would be happy to provide any of this material to the sender of the original message.
