Sophia Andre, daughter of Peter Francis/Francois Andre married Thomas Powell in 1811, and we are descended from their daughter Lucina through her daughter Sophia (there is a pattern of names in this family, I have found as her son was named Thomas Francis). I have pages from Lucina's family bible and a sampler made by her sister when she was 10. I am looking for information about Sophia Andre's parents and siblings as Lucina died young and her children were parceled out to relatives. We want to know who took the son to Iowa and how the daughters wound up in Pike County, Illinois. I have been tracing their Powell uncles and aunts and it is clear the children were moved from relative to relative. According to the stories told my great-grandmother, he daughter Mary Lucina (more patterns) was treated like a servant by her aunt Elizabeth Powell Holdren, and sure enough, in the 1870 census she was listed in that household as "servant", not niece.

I would love to correspond with Andre descendants and share information.
