My great-grandmother was SOPHIE ANDRE DIT ST.AMANT. She was married 3 or 4 times as the family story goes. Sophie was a very tall woman of 6 feet 7 inches. Here is the 3 marriages that I know of: Mr. Terpentier, Napoleon Proulx, Fabien Sauve. Her parents were Paul Andre dit St.Amant and Obeline Liboiron. Sophie married Napoleon Proulx on April 17, 1882. From this union there were 12 known children: 1)Alfred; 2)Henri; 3)Amanda; 4)Alberta; 5)Wilfrid; 6)Hubert; 7)Leopold; 8)Normand; 9)ROSE-ANNA: she married Jean-Baptiste Letourneau. She died on March 23, 1977 in Alexandria, Ontario. Rose-Anna had one known daughter, Jacqueline who lived in the Montreal, Quebec area....10)ALPHONSINE: married Napoleon Joanette. She died on June 21, 1949 in Alexandria, Ontario. Alphonsine had one known son, Oscar born in 1912 and died May 30, 1988.....11)ALBERT: married April 17, 1977, to Antoinette Sabourin. They had at least 5 children: Eugene, Juliette, Rene, Yvette, Yvonne.....12)JOSEPH-NAPOLEON PAUL: born June 6, christened June 8, 1887 at Ste. Marthe, Joliette, Quebec, died April 26, 1968 in Kingston, Ontario. He married Elizabeth-Jane MacDonald, born 1894 in Alexandria, Ontario, died March 4, 1981 in Toronto, Ontario. Elizabeth was the daughter of Jn. Ronald MacDonald and Margaret MacGillis.
Great-grandmother Sophie then went on to marry Fabien Sauve on September 21, 1897. Several children were produced of this union, one of which was my grandmother. Blanche Marie Sauve was born September 28, 1907 in Glen Nevis, Ontario and died December 29, 1977 in Chatham, Ontario. She married Leopold, Antonio, Joseph Gauthier.
I would like to know anything about any of Sophie's children. As you can see I do not have much information, regarding dates born, where, dates died, dates of marriage, etc. I would also like to know of any of Sophie's siblings, date she was born and where, etc...
If anyone has any information I would very much appreciate it. Thank you in advance for all the help
