This may be a shot in the dark but: My great grandfather was an Andre, Had been a school teacher in Northern France but was persecuted and with his large family, went to Switzerland for several years then immigrated to America probably around 1859 (+/-3) My Grandmother,Marie Alice Andre was born in France or Switzerland around 1853(+/-3), and lived with her family in the Chicago Area probably in the South to Southwest side. Around 1868 or 69 she married Sheldon Alnzo Harris. Some of her brothers and sisters settled in the Near South Chicago area; and at least one owned a small grocery story
Great Grandfather Andre, kcould not get work as a teacher so took work putting the hoops on barrels in a Barrel factory.
