Hi all, I am looking for some more info about Andrade family, specially from the region of Silacayoapam, Oaxaca. If you happen to trace your roots somehow to that region of Mexico, send me an email. I currently live and work in the Bay Area, USA, but come originally from Veracruz. BTW, those of you that want to trace your heritage genetically, heres some interesting National Geographic Project. As you know, our last name comes from our father's line only (most cases), and also "Y chromosomes" come along from our father's male lineage (you may not know that), so you can trace your Andrade genealogy using genetics all the way to Spain/Portugal... You can check more at: https://www3.nationalgeographic.com/genographic/ And From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Y-chromosome "Because the Y chromosome changes relatively slowly over time and is only passed along the direct male line, it may be used to trace paternal lineage." I am not expert in genetics and such, but I've been doing some little research to know what kind of human mutt I am ( ;-) ). If you happen to also do the Genographic thing, you can add your experience to this thread. In my case, I can trace my Y chromosome to Spain/Portugal/West Europe, within the "haplogroup R1b". You can email me to fandradeg <at> yahoo {dot} com Regards, Federico. Notify Administrator about this message?
