My family is originally from Massachuetts, we are of Cape Verdean descent, there are a few branches of the Andrade family here and only a few that are Cape verdean, the Cape Verdean names are unusual in the aspect that the are pronounced differently and usually names like Lopez are spelled Lopes pronounced Lope (s). Cape Verde are islands off the coast of Africa that were a portugeese colony that have recently gained their independence, most are descendants from africa with hispanic surnames and also like myself, of portugeese ancestry also.
