Update:
Caspar Andes married Catharine Kohl (2nd wife) in St. Michael's Episcopal Church, B'way & W. 99st., Manhattan, New York City, on Jul 14, 1872. They had a daughter, Catherine Andes, born 1874 in New York City.
I last found the family on the 1880 Census for New London, Connecticut, as Caspar was still working as a stone scuptor. Children from first and second wife were also listed but children from first wife, Frances Andes, later moved back to Brooklyn, NY.
My great grand-mother, Josephine Emma Andes Lake, on the 1910 Census, listed her father Caspar Andes as being born in France and her mother as born in Germany.
Caspar's immigration papers listed him as coming from Hesse Darmstadt, Germany.
