I am trying to find a connection between the Andertons in Mathews County, Va and Gloucester County, VA -- the counties are adjacent to each other in tidewater Virginia. Surely there is a connection. Mine are from Mathews -- formerly Kingston Parish, Gloucester County -- Benjamin Anderton, born ~1804, is my earliers ancestor, married Elizabeth Davis -- son Columbus Anderton who was paroled at Appamatox CH, was my great-grandfather. Any information would be appreciated.
