Oops, I see you quoted the JAMES. That must be a type-o on Donnie's part. BY THE WAY, DO YOU RECOGNIZE THE JOHN H. ANDERTON WHO SIGNED THE BOND FOR JOHN WASHINGTON AND MARY HEATH??? See below, also could you possibly check the dates for these children whose names coincide with those of Wiley Anderton? Thanks again. Note also below: "father in Virginia"....Aren, shown below, was the source of my speculation concerning a possible link for John Washington to your Wiley Washington family. She seems quite convinced, I'm still somewhat "on the fence". Your defense of inserted John Washington b. 1837/8 into your family seems quite sincere and documented. There is a possibility that your bible entries were made a generation or two more recent than these folks and the recorder may not have known about another brother??? Also possible there was some disagreement between these folks and they were simply ignoring the existance of another family member (I'm stretching here, I know) The John H. Anderton is probably the key to my particular puzzle. I'd be surprised if all these Andertons in Bedford county aren't somehow related. John Washington Anderton [father currently unidentified] b. 1838 d. after 1900 (shown on that census age 62). The 1900 census indicates that he was born in Tennessee, his father in Virginia and his mother in North Carolina. Like the Byroms and Rays, this Anderton family were among the earliest white settlers in Middle Tennessee. He married Mary T. Heath on 20 Jan 1861 in Bedford Co. TN with the bond signed by John H. Anderton, relationship currently unknown. There was a Rev. Lewis Heath in Bedford County, TN between 1810-1840 who died in Texas. His relationship to Mary, if any, is currently unknown. Children of John Washington Anderton and Mary T. Heath are: Sallie Anderton b. 1862 G.J. Anderton b. 1863 Willie Anderton b. 1869 Robert Edgar Anderton b. 30 Dec 1858 d. 24 Jul 1955 m. Martha Elizabeth Evans 25 Ma 1895 Moore Co. TN (see later) Nellie Anderton b. 1871 Harold Byas Anderton b. 13 Dec 1871 d. 29 Feb 1960 m. Arrie Ray (see later) buried Raysville, TN church yard Luther Anderton b. 1873 Mary J. Anderton “Jennie” b. 1874 m. William Riley Ray Emmett Anderton b. 1875, had son Edgar whose son Edgar m.
