Family of James Bird Anderson 1838 - 1907 (Southington, CT)

Hi - I'm working on a family (Anderson) genealogy, and I've gotten stuck. The earliest Anderson ancestor that I could pin down is James Bird Anderson (1838 - 1907, born and died in Connecticut), and possibly his mother's name (Sarah M Atkins, born in 1816, in Connecticut). According to records I've seen online, by 1860, Sarah (listed as the widow of John Anderson) married a man named Nobel Peck in Southington, CT.

James' wife, Elizabeth, was born in (somewhere in) Northern Ireland in 1845, emigrating in the same year. James and Elizabeth were married about 1867 and had 7 children, one of their sons was my great-grandfather. I cannot find any way to track down Elizabeth's maiden name (therefore, any records of her before she married James B.).

I'm hoping that someone might possibly have more information about James' parents. "John Anderson" was/is such a common name, it's difficult to find one that either fits the geography or the dates (he would died by 1860, possibly in the area of Southington, CT). I also cannot find any additional information about Sarah Atkins (Anderson) Peck.

I have tried going back and filling in as much info as possible for James' and Elizabeth's children, hoping to be able to piece together from all the details, but nothing so-far.

Any idea what or where I could find the information I need to fill in the details and continue my research back into my family tree? Any help would be appreciated!
