Marti,

There is a late 19th century family history of Thomas Garrison and Comfort Roberts. I have it saved on CD-ROM but I am using the senior center computers so I don't have it immediately available. If I can get myself orgainized I will try to email you a copy.

In any rate it says that Thomas and Comfort Roberts came from the area of Baltimore Maryland before they settled in North Carolina, So you should be looking for Roberts familes in Baltimore to trace Comfort. Take a look at ships list too to see if they came into Baltimore harbor and thee moved quickly into North Carolina
