The last installment of collateral names from the extended family of Garret and Maria Neefus Van Pelt is the Alexander and Hannah Anderson Van Pelt family.
Alexander Van Pelt was born 28 Nov 1768 in NJ, and his will was recorded 11 July 1849 in Rensselaer County, NY. Alexander Van Pelt m. Hannah Anderson, b. 21 Jun 1765, NJ, dau of Joseph and Mary Stockton Anderson. Their children (from his will) were John A. (m. Lucinda Taylor, poss aka Abigail), Alexander, Jr. (m. Eliza Marie Andres, Sophia R. [Pond?]), Elizabeth (m. Samuel Armstrong, Stephen Dayton), Mary (m. Abner Sears) and Julia Ann (m. Charles Benjamin). Hiram (m. Lany Derrick) is not listed in Alexander’s will because Alexander deeded the farm to him in 1835.

If your search brought you here, more information - including sources - is available. There are still many unknown maiden names and much work to do in these families, so all new cuzzins with puzzle pieces to share will be most welcome. There is much confusion among the Alexander Van Pelts out there, and the fact that many of his children also went to Ohio, Illinois and points west certainly does not help matters.
