Rollie, I agree with your statement "Most people are not aware of the worst census problem of all. The census records that you look at (usually on microfilm or digital microfilm or online) on not the original census records!" I'll give an example of the transcribing errors that cna occur, using "The Father of Brownwood," Greenleaf Fist, simple because we have been discussing Andersons of Brown Co TX. The 1860 census lists him as Greenleaf Frisk, and that appears to be how the actual census page reads. Yet, this does not mean it is not his household that was enumerated, it simply means other documents, records and histories tell us that is him, in spite of the error in spelling. The same is true for Jane Scuggs Anderson and her questionable age on the 1880 census...other documents, records and histories tell us that is indeed her in spite of her indexed age.
