I left him out didn't I? Bloody Bill's brother James M was usually called Jim throughout his part in the Civil War. We lose tract of him after the 1870 Refugio Co TX census, while William C's brother James Noble died in 1945 Palo Pinto Co TX, and has a paper trail up to that point. In 1870, he is in Wise Co TX, next door to his parents, William And Jane Scruggs Anderson. Two different brothers, two different places. Also, William C Anderson did not have a sister Josephine, who was killed in MO in 1863 in a building collapse that was serving as a makeshift jail housing females who were accused of helping the guerilla's cause. It has been claimed that William C Anderson had a photo of his 3 sisters that included Josephine, but one would have to question that due to the fact that such a photo would have to be pre-1863, the year Josephine was killed. Bloody Bill had 3 younger sisters, including Josephine, and 3 younger brothers, that he was in charge of, as the oldest son, after his parents both died in KS in the early 1860s. William C Anderson had 2 older sisters born in the 1830s and one younger sister, and two older brothers also born in the 1830s. His father lived until after the 1870 census in TX, his mother until after the 1880 census. There is not really that much that can cause any serious confusion between the two William Andersons, when using their families to identify them. FRAN BOLTON Notify Administrator about this message?
