Anderson Family Genealogy Forum

I had a chance to communicate with a woman that had transcribed a census and had put my great grandfather's initials as BQ Anderson. When I saw her website, I recalled going to the genealogy library here in town with my father many years ago. We had looked at the film for that very census. My father had tole me it said DQ and that it was just archaic script compared to ours today. I contacted the transcriber and told her what my father had said and I filled her in on some of my family history. She emailed me back saying that it had been many, many years since she had transcribed that particular census and that looking at the name with eyes that had much more experience, it was of course DQ Anderson. It was a very pleasant experience communicating with this lady. People like that help us so much with their tireless work. It also shows that we all learn as we go along.
