[Note my correction - the 1808 listing should have read John Anderson, not James Anderson.]
From the wording of the 1859 book it looks like James, David and John were all related. John is mentioned as a brother of Col. Anderson (I presume this is refering to David Anderson.) It also says that David and James Anderson came together from Abbeville SC. This implies a relationship but whether brothers, cousins, father/son, uncle/nephew, it is not clear. So is James a 3rd brother, or related otherwise? He is my main interest. The book says his son, David, was dead (as of 1859.) My David died sometime between 1850 and 1860 and probably before 1854. For that reason I am looking at James as a prime candidate as my David's father.
The fact that all these Andersons came from Abbeville, SC certainly raises the question that they are somehow related. Since these 3 do not appear to be sons of Joseph, perhaps they are brothers.
My line from David Anderson and Julia Thompson is through their son James W Anderson m. Mary Ann Malone (1866, Randolph, Co.) They moved to Washington Co, IL breifly and by 1870 they were in Marion Co. IL.
