I have a DAR record which quotes a bible record that proves William Anderson(1773-1836)was the son of Garland Anderson (1742-1811)and Marcia E.Burbridge of Hanover Co., VA.
This William's son,William Armstead Anderson, born c1802 was my g-g grandfather. He was in Henrico, Co. VA in 1830, but moved to Alabama about 1835 and died about 1859. He lived in the South Florence/Tuscumbia, Franklin Co, AL area.
I have never been able to identify the William Clough Anderson who moved to KY. Could the old lady, who gave the information in the pension record, have confused him with the well known, Richard Clough Anderson? Can anyone identify him?
The Jones'in the Pension record are from the Roger Jones Family.I have so far not found a relationship between Rowland Jones and this family although they appear to have lived in the same places.Jones was a common name in the 1700's as it is today.
Thomas Jones (1670-1758), one of the two known sons of Capt. Roger Jones, was one of the first alderman of Williamburg, VA.He married Elizabeth Cocke (widow of Wm. Pratt.) Thomas is said to have died in Hanover Co. VA.I have a list of Thomas & Elizabeth 's ten children.
Their son, Thomas Jones Jr. (1726-1785) married Sarah Skelton. He lived after retiring as a county clerk at his home, Spring Garden,in Hanover Co., VA.He had nine children including Sarah who married Nathaniel Anderson and William Anderson
