I am desperatley searching for some info on my husbands grandmother. We dont know much about her at all. Here is what we know:
She was born in Litchfield Illinois Area to Granderson Edgar ALLEN and Alma Ruby DAPPER. Her name was Claire Lucille ALLEN, she was born 9 Sept 1920. I know that she served in the Navy for a while and had a child out of Wedlock (my husbands mother whom she gave her maiden name to) Claire had two brothers William Joeseph ALLEN "Joe" and he was also in the Navy as was their brother Gerald Edgar ALLEN "Jerry". They had a sister named Jean Evelyn ALLEN and she married a Leanoard Mendoza who was a policeman in Nevada. Jean and Moe lived in Carson City Nevada. Sometime during the years of 1955 to the 60`s Claire and her family moved to California. She married a man with the last name of ANDERSON or ANDERSEN. They had two or three children together, a daughter named Denise I believe. Claire died 6 December 1967 in Anaheim, Orange County, California. We were told she died from Suicide. Her grandmother Clara Bell ALLEN lived in Los Angeles County California and she died on 5 Oct 1964 and is buried in Pierce Brothers Valhalla Memorial Park Cemetery in North Hollywood California. I believe Claire ANDERSONS parents Granderson and Alma to also be living somewhere in California during this time period. My husband would love to know more about who his grandmother was. We dont know his grandfather at all since his mother was concieved out of wedlock and there is no record of his fathers name anywhere that we can find. If anyone knows of this family or any connections to it in the Orange or Los Angeles County areas please contact me asap! Thank you!
