I am grasping for straws, but I think perhaps that my grandfather, Andrew Hansen's, b. 1850 father was a Hans Andersen...probably born in Denmark, perhaps in Sommersted, around 1810-1830. It is thought he came to the Sioux City, IA area prior to around 1840 and married. One of his sons, Andrew (Anders) was born near the Sioux City area. Family legend indicate this family may have moved back to Denmark around 1851 +/-. I guess that Hans Andersen's father was Anders Petersen. Hans Andersen had another son, named Valtmer (Walter)Hansen whom died in a haying accident somewhere in Iowa/Nebraska area around 1903-06. Does anyone out there have even a tad bit of information that approximates any of these names??? Any help appreciated
