I have also started researching the Anders family. My great-grandmother was an Anders and grew up in Fries, VA. I'm not sure if we are from the same group of Anders, but I do know there is a Franklin and a Jasper in there somewhere. I will have to look back at my info I have because right now it's not fresh in my mind. The info I do know about the Anders was that most of them lived in the same area and a lot of them worked at some type of factory there right across the river in Fries. I also know there are some of them around Abingdon, VA. My great-grandmother, Lila, was one of many children. Their mother basically gave them away to family members and friends, thus scattering them around. She ended up marrying a Russell Burchette and moving to NC, which is where they stayed and where my grandmother and the rest of us were born! I know she had a sister, Lula, who ended up in MD. I used to be in contact with her granddaughter. I know there was a Cosby and a Franklin. Some of them ended up in TN. What made the Anders family fresh on my mind was because my mom was in SC today and met someone with the last name Anders. Knowing it's not common, they got to talking and discovered her father or grandfather was a Franklin Anders from Abingdon, VA. My mom had been to his house and described it, and they are pretty sure we are related. Anyway, I'd love to share any info we have with each other and see if we are in fact from the same line of Anders. My email is gusandmel@hotmail.com
