I have just started looking into my Andrews line. My Great Grandfather was Charles Andrews that married Mary Geeskie. His father was Charley (Karl) Anders. Charley and his wife Mary came to the United States from Hanover Germany in the 1870's. I was wondering why so many Anders changed their name to Andrews. I cannot find any information about Charley's parents or siblings so I am interested in knowing how such a vast amount of Anders changed their names to Andrews, was it coincedence? Any information would be helpful.
