Hi Fred,
I have been looking at all of your posting history. I am so much in your debt that you cannot even imagine. I knew that your name was familiar but never considered that while I was looking at your information re: Allisons that there were so many connections.Amazing!
Hard to believe that so many of your allied families tie in with the Wilburns, directly or otherwise.
Here are just a few examples:And these go back to late 1600's and early 1700's too.
SMOOT
ALLISON
BARTON
BATTEN
PHILPOTT
WOOD
AND OF COURSE THE AMY LINE...my great grandfather Nelson Wilburn (1847-1886) m Margaret Amy in Harrison Co IN in 1867.And this is how and why we two had a prior communication.I have just begun to uncover lines that go back to Middlesex Co VA and the allied families there.
I am really starting to think that the Hughes that are also living in Harrison Co IN and Crawford Co IN are from the same Hughes line as my own line of Hughes...very different families.I know that Francis Hughes whose Hughes ancestors are from this area, disagrees, but I think there is a sliver of evidence that this might be the case.
Anyhow, your information is simply GREAT!I cannot thank you enough.
Cheers and much more,
Vikky Wilburn Anders in San Diego....
